# Q4 Marketplace Operations Checklist: Inventory, Pricing and Account Prep for Black Friday 2026

By **Ecomglue Ecom Team**October 19, 2026

![Price and deal management for Black Friday](https://www.ecomglue.com/hubfs/Ecomglue-marketplace-expansion-price-and-deal-management-01.png)

Black Friday falls on **27 November 2026**, with Cyber Monday on **30 November**. Most of the advice you will read in the next few weeks is about ads: raise budgets, adjust bids, launch new campaigns. That matters. But the brands that win Q4 are usually decided earlier, by whether their stock, listings, prices and accounts are ready for peak demand.

Checklist phases

5 stages

This is the fifth post in our Ecommerce Management series: an operations checklist for the weeks before, during and after peak season. Looking for the deals and promotions side? See our earlier guide on [preparing for Amazon Black Friday deals](https://www.ecomglue.com/blog/how-to-prepare-for-amazon-black-friday-deals-2025).

Stage 1 · 6 weeks out

## Inventory and catalog

### Inventory

- Forecast peak demand per SKU, per channel and per country using last year's data and this year's trend.
- Confirm inbound shipments to Amazon FBA and other fulfillment networks early. Check each marketplace's current inbound cut-off dates and any capacity limits.
- Agree which channel gets priority if stock runs short, and set safety buffers accordingly.
- Check sync frequency between your inventory system and every marketplace. Peak sales velocity exposes slow syncs.

### Catalog

- Fix all open listing errors and suppressed listings, starting with your bestsellers.
- Check that variations are grouped correctly on every marketplace, so shoppers see all sizes and colors.
- Refresh images, titles and key attributes for gift-season search terms in each language.
- Verify compliance information (GPSR details, EPR numbers) is complete on every EU listing.

**Watch out:** a listing suppressed for missing compliance data during peak week costs you the most valuable sales days of the year. Check this first.

Stage 2 · 4 weeks out

## Pricing and deals

- Set your peak pricing strategy per channel. Calculate margins after each marketplace's fees, fulfillment costs and expected returns.
- Check price consistency across channels. Large unintended gaps can cost you the Buy Box or trigger marketplace pricing checks.
- Confirm deal submissions and their deadlines on each marketplace. Many close weeks before the event.
- Prepare the reference prices your deals rely on. Marketplaces have specific rules on what counts as a valid "was" price.
- Schedule price changes centrally where possible, rather than editing each marketplace by hand on the day.

Stage 3 · 2 weeks out

## Accounts and operations

- Review account health on every marketplace and resolve all open notifications.
- Confirm shipping templates, handling times and carrier capacity for the peak period.
- Make sure tracking numbers are uploaded automatically for every channel.
- Agree on customer service coverage and response times for the peak weekend, in each market's language.
- Prepare a contact list and escalation plan in case a listing is suppressed or an account issue appears.

Stage 4 · Peak week

## Monitor daily

- Check stock levels and sell-through rates at least daily for top SKUs, and adjust buffers if a channel is outselling.
- Watch for suppressed listings, price errors and stock-outs. Fix at the source, not just on one marketplace.
- Monitor late shipments and cancellations. Peak volume can push metrics into risk quickly.
- Coordinate with your advertising team (or agency) so ads are paused or adjusted when stock runs low.

Stage 5 · After peak

## Protect the gains

- Plan for returns. Return rates rise after peak, and returned stock needs to be checked and relisted quickly.
- Replenish bestsellers before the December gifting window closes.
- Review account health once more and close out any new issues.
- Pull a consolidated report across channels and countries: what sold, where you ran out, where margins held. This is your planning data for Prime Day and next Q4.

How we prepare our clients

For the brands we manage, peak preparation runs through one workflow: listings, inventory and pricing rules in **StoreAutomator**, deal and price communication with each marketplace, FBA replenishment, and daily account health monitoring through the peak weeks.

### Still time to get ready for Black Friday

It is late October: enough time for most of this checklist, but not all of it. Book a free consultation and we will tell you what can still be fixed before peak.
