Prime Day 2025

Get Ready for Prime Day 2025: Seller's Checklist, Tips and Strategies

If you plan to participate in Amazon Prime Day 2025, this blog post can help you prepare for the event. It includes a seller's checklist, tips, and strategies for achieving the best results on Prime Day.

Amazon Prime Day is a fantastic shopping event. With increased traffic and amazing deals, millions of items are sold every day. If you plan to participate in Prime Day 2025, this blog post can help you prepare.

What Is Prime Day

The Prime Day event started in July 2015 to celebrate Amazon's 20th anniversary as a global shopping event. Following its initial success, the event became a recurring offering, featuring fantastic deals on a wide range of products exclusively for Prime members. During last year's Prime Day, independent sellers sold more than 200 million items. Therefore, this event may be an excellent opportunity to boost sales and attract new customers with attractive deals. The last Prime Day event took place on July 16-17, 2024. Although the exact date has not been announced yet for this year, historically, most Prime Day events have occurred in mid-July.

Prime Day Eligibility

If you intend to participate in the Prime Day event, your Amazon offers and items must be eligible for Prime shipping. There are different ways to obtain the Prime branding/badge on your products. One option is through the Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) program, which allows you to deliver items directly to customers from your own warehouses or storage facilities. Your business needs to pre-qualify for the Prime Trial by meeting specific criteria, which include various metrics related to your business, such as low late shipment rates, a certain number of self-fulfilled packages, and low cancellation rates. After the initial qualification, you will participate in a Seller Fulfilled Prime trial, which lasts approximately a month. During the trial period, you will need to meet some requirements similar to those above. If you pass the trial, the program allows you to place Prime branding on your listings.

The other option is to enroll in the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) program. In this program, you need to send your products to Amazon's fulfillment network, where Amazon will pack and ship orders, handle returns, and manage customer service. To be eligible for FBA Prime, your offers must also meet specific requirements. Items you add to FBA will be Prime-eligible automatically. Still, Amazon will monitor the performance of the offers for Prime Eligibility, which you can track in Seller Central*.

Completion of these processes in advance of the event is essential for confirming your eligibility, and it will allow you to allocate extra time for the other preparations for Prime Day.

*Prime trial processes and eligibility requirements for programs may vary by country. Please refer to the respective Prime eligibility requirements and FAQ pages for detailed information.

  • Product Listings

If you're preparing for Prime Day, your product listings can be a good place to start. Ensuring that every product has well-written and precise descriptions and titles, as well as high-quality images, could be a good step. Using well-performing keywords and optimizing your listings' SEO are additional steps you can take. It is also essential to review your listings and ensure that all information is up-to-date and accurate. Ensure that you check your listings to verify if they are active or not. Managing inactive listings in advance can be another crucial step in preparing your business for Prime Day.

Additionally, according to Amazon, "basic A+ Content can increase sales by up to 8%." If you're planning to implement A+ content for your products and brand, it's a good idea to start working on it before the Prime Day event to ensure your business's listings and store are ready for the event.

  • Plan Stocks and Inventory

As traffic during the Prime Day event is expected to increase, it is essential to plan and confirm that your inventory and stock are ready for the event. Reviewing previous sales data from your business and identifying your best-selling products can help you make more accurate predictions about demand, develop a solid inventory management strategy, and prevent running out of stock on your products early.

In addition to these, if your products are being sent or sold through Amazon's FBA program, sending them to Amazon facilities before the event can help you avoid delays and achieve a smoother process during the event. If your FBA capacity is low, planning for FBM can be beneficial in meeting demand.

Additionally, suppose your business has already participated in previous Prime Day events. In that case, you can leverage the experience and data from those events to make more accurate forecasts of your inventory and stock levels.

  • Create Deals, Sales, and Discounts

Prime Day is an event where Prime members look for great deals and discounts on various products on Amazon. Offering amazing promotions and deals during Prime Day is crucial to attracting new customers and boosting sales.

There are different types of deals, such as Prime Exclusive Best Deals, which run the entire duration of the Prime Day event, and Prime Exclusive Lightning Deals, which can run for a specified period or until the stock is sold.

Determining the appropriate promotion and/or deal for your products and being prepared for the event is crucial, as this is your opportunity to reach and potentially make sales to new customers.

  • Amazon Ads Prime Day Setup

Once your Prime Day preparations are complete, you can utilize Amazon Ads as a final touch, which can increase your brand awareness, showcase your best-performing products more effectively, and likely boost your sales. According to the Amazon Ads website, there was a 216% increase in awareness during the 2023 event for the brands advertised, both before and during the event, compared to the week before.

If you are already using Amazon Ads and have running campaigns, utilizing the data you currently have to identify your best-performing ads, products, keywords, required budget, and ad types, and planning your ads accordingly for Prime Day, may help you boost your overall performance. Additionally, if you have any data from previous Prime Day events, you can also review it to see what worked in the past. If you don’t have any prior data available, using Amazon Ads before the event can help you gather the valuable information mentioned above and determine what works best for your brand.

Another step could be to update your storefront for Prime Day and promote your brand page. Checking and optimizing your copy, adding high-quality images, uploading videos of your products, and highlighting your best-performing products and deals by featuring them on your storefront can further increase the visibility of your products.
